Description of key information

Solids and solids that may not become liquid during transport are exempted from testing for metal corrosion.

Additional information

Corrosivity to metals:

The justification for not to perform tests is based on the criterion according to the ECHA Guidance on the Application of the CLP Criteria:
"According to the classification criteria (CLP Annex I, 2.16.2.1) only substances and mixtures for which the application of the test C.1described in part III, section 37 of the UN-MTC (4th revised edition) is relevant and needs to be considered. This means that non soluble solids are excluded, while liquids and solids that may become liquids (during transport), as mentioned in this reference text, have to be considered for such a classification."

Succinic acid is not a liquid and it does not become liquid during transport. Dissolution of succinic acid is also not intended or foreseen during transport. Solids and solids that may not become liquid during transport are exempted from testing for metal corrosion.
