Description of key information

The melting/ freezing temperature of magnesium carbonate is >450 °C.

Additional information

The key study for determination of the melting/ freezing point of magnesium carbonate is a GLP study performed in accordance with Method A1 of Commission Regulation (EC) No 440/2008 of 30 May 2008 (Harlan Laboratories Ltd, 2010). The melting/ freezing temperature of magnesium carbonate was determined using differential scanning calorimetry and was found to be >450 °C.
