Description of key information

Melting point/freezing point (ATMP acid): undergoes melting with decomposition from about 178°C (451 K) (Tremain 2010)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The acid form of ATMP has been demonstrated to melt with decomposition from about 178ºC (451 K) using a differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) in accordance with EU A.1 Test Method. The result is considered to be reliable and has therefore been assigned as key study.

In available supporting/secondary sources, melting point value between 195 up to 225°C was reported for ATMP acid (Beilstein 1973, 1966 , Vanesse 1992).
