Description of key information

No relevant data on the toxicity of cyclohexanol to terrestrial organisms are available.

Additional information

The soil hazard category for cyclohexanol was determined according to the procedure set out in ECHA Guidance R.7c (Table R.7.11-2). Based on the low adsorption potential (log Kow = 1.25), low environmental persistence (ready biodegradability), and relatively low aquatic toxicity (all available aquatic LC50/EC50 values are greater than 1 mg/L), cyclohexanol is classified into soil hazard category 1. Following ECHA Guidance R.7c, the PNECsoil thus can be calculated from the PNECaqua (freshwater) by using the equilibrium partitioning method. The safe use of the substance under the conditions of the identified uses can then be demonstrated by carrying out a screening environmental assessment.
