Conclusions:
On a structure based approach and on the basis of functional groups that may have explosive properties (Bretheriek's handbook of Reactive Chemical Hazards, Butterworths, 4th Edition), it is possible to exclude beyond reasonable doubt that monohydrated sodium hypophosphite has explosive properties.
Moreover, this substance is not classified according to UN regulation on transport of dangerous goods which confirms the previous conclusion made on the basis of functionnal groups.

As stated Annex VII, point 7.11 of the REACH regulation No 1907/2006 β€œthe tests need not be performed when available thermodynamic information (e.g. heat of formation, heat of decomposition) and/or absence of certain reactive groups in the structural formula establishes beyond reasonable doubt that the substance is incapable of rapid decomposition with evolution of gases or release of heat (i.e. the material does not present any risk of explosion).”

According to the chemical structure and the list of reactive groups that could have explosive properties (Brethericks) it is possible to exclude beyond reasonable doubt that the test item has explosive properties.

Furthermore the test item is not classified according to the UN classification for the transport of dangerous goods confirming the conclusion based on the chemical structure regarding the absence of explosive properties.
