Endpoint:
oxidising solids
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is incapable of reacting exothermically with combustible materials

Description of key information

The substance is incapable of reacting exothermically with combustible materials.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Oxidising properties:
non oxidising

Additional information

According to Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, Annex VII, section 7.13, column 2, the study does not need to be conducted, if the substance is incapable of reacting exothermically with combustible materials, for example on the basis of the chemical structure (e.g. inorganic substances not containing oxygen or halogen atoms). Fatty acids, C14-18 and C16-18-unsatd., zinc salts does not contain a surplus of oxygen or any structural groups known to be correlated with a tendency to react exothermally with combustible material. Derogation from testing is hereby applied for.

Justification for classification or non-classification

The substance is incapable of reacting exothermically with combustible materials. Therefore no classification is required for oxidising properties according to CLP Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008 and its subsequent amendments.
