Description of key information

The substance is not flammable. It neither possesses pyrophoric properties nor reacts violently with water forming flammable gases. It does not show self-heating behaviour.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Flammability:
non flammable

Additional information

The flammability of the substance is determined in a guideline study. No or only minor deviations could be detected during determination. Based on the result of the study the substance could be considered as non flammable. This result is therefore chosen as key value for the chemical safety assessment.

In accordance with section 1 of REACH Annex XI, the pyrophoric properties study does not need to be conducted as based on chemical structure pyrophoric properties are not to be expected.

In accordance with section 1 of REACH Annex XI, the water reactivity study does not need to be conducted as based on chemical structure water reactivity is not to be expected.

In accordance with section 1 of REACH Annex XI, the UN test N 4 for self-heating substances and mixtures does not need to be conducted as the substance is a solid with a melting point less than 160 °C.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Since flammable properties of the substance could be excluded based on experimental testing, its chemical structure or its state matter there is no need to classify the substance as flammable according to Regulation (EC) 1272/2008 (CLP) as amended for the ninth time in Regulation (EU) No 2016/1179.
