Description of key information

According to Guidance on Information Requirements and Chemical Safety Assessment Chapter R.7a: Endpoint Specific Guidance, R.7.1.4, the density of a substance is environmentally relevant because it is helpful in estimating the distribution of the substance within and between water, soil and air. As wheat glucose syrups are extremely soluble in water, it can reasonably be predicted that wheat glucose syrups will partition into the aquatic compartment. Thus, according to section 1 of REACh (Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006) Annex XI, the relative density study (required in Annex VII section 7.4) does not need to be conducted.
