Short-term toxicity to fish

One key study and four supporting studies (OECD 203) showed nominal LC50 values between 1 and 10 mg/l. In a fifth supporting study according with DIN 38 412, LC50 = 10 – 22 mg/l.  The key study was selected based on test procedure and details provided.   

Long-term toxicity to fish and daphnia

Long term studies do not need to be conducted based on column 2 in Annex IX of REACH Regulation (EC 1907/2006): CSA does not indicate the need for further investigations.  

Short term toxicity to daphnia

Two studies (OECD 202) were used as key studies. Both reported EC50 (48h) values between 10 and 100 mg/l.   

Toxicity to aquatic plants other than algae

Test item was found to inhibit the growth of the monocotyledon Lemna minor after 7 days with the following effect values (nominal concentrations): EC50 values for growth rate inhibition of frond number (ErC50) and dry weight (ErdwC50) were 103 mg/l and 73.8 mg/l, respectively; EC50 values for yield inhibition of frond number (EyC50) and dry weight (EydwC50) were both between 10 and 100 mg/l, i.e. 22.8 mg/L and 17.6 mg/l, respectively.   

Toxicity to microorganisms

Studies accoridng to OECD 209 were available. The key study reported an EC50 of 107 mg/l and a NOEC of 7.81 mg/l; the supporting study reported an EC50 of 32.6 mg/l. The value of the supporting study was not used for chemical safety assessment as no data on purity and composition was available.
