Up to 120 °C the sample boiled intermittendly, above 160 °C the sample foamed. Measurements after cooling the sample  were not possible due to  polymerization. Thus only the data points above 120 °C were used for the  calculation.

Conclusions:
The vapor pressure was determined to be 0.11 hPa at 20 deg C.
Executive summary:

The vapour pressure of hydroxypropyl methacrylate was measured by dynamic method acc. OECD 104 and extrapolated to 20 °C. The vapor pressure was calculated to be 0.11 hPa at 20 deg C.

Description of key information

The vapour pressure of HPMA is 0.11 hPa at 20°C (OECD guideline 104/EU test method A.4; dynamic method).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Vapour pressure:
0.11 hPa
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

The test result is confirmed by the calculated vapour pressure of hydroxypropyl methacrylate with EPI Suite 4.1. The calculated mean vapour pressure acc. Antoine & Grain method is 0.057 hPa @ 25 °C based on a measured boiling point of 209 °C (Röhm 2007).
