Description of key information

Adsorption coefficients (Koc) of 4265, 38019 and 42658 (OECD 121) have been assigned to the following constituents respectively; patchouli alcohol, alpha-bulnesene and alpha-guaiene.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Koc at 20 °C:
4 265

Additional information

The chromatograms of Patchouli Oil show three main peaks corresponding to adsorption coefficients (log Koc) of 3.63, 4.58 and 4.63. For environmental risk assessment purposes, the corresponding adsorption coefficients (Koc) have been assigned to the three constituents that have been identified to represent blocks of related constituents in Patchouli Oil. These are patchouli alcohol (Koc = 4265), alpha-bulnesene (Koc = 38019) and alpha-guaiene (Koc = 42658).
