Description of key information

The dynamic viscosity is 2.60 cP (2.60 mPa*sec) at 40 ºC.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The standard information requirement for REACh is a determination of viscosity at 20 °C. Because diphenyl ether is a solid at this temperature, measurement is not feasible and any reported values for 20 °C are suspect. Alternatively, the viscosity at 40 °C is reported as this represents a temperature at which the substance occurs as a liquid, and representative of lowest practical use temperature.
