sucrose gap method. The experiments were carried out on the desheathed myelinated nerve.

5 minutes after the application there was a slight hyperpolarization of the nerve membrane 

(-0.25 V) and a decrease of the amplitude of the compound action potential (approx. 20 %).
Isobutyl methacrylate was less effective than Methyl methacrylate.
