Description of key information

In a publication (Cheung, 1984) effects of the testsubstance on fagocytosis of immunocomplexes by neutrophils was investigated. It was found that the test substance significantly reduces chemiluminisence, which is considered a representative for the strength of the fagocytosis, compared to the chemiluminisence found with untreated control cells.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The reference may discuss effects of the test substance on the non-specific part of immune system (fagocytosis), but is considered not sufficient to allow any conclusions.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Aggregated human gamma globulin (AHG) -induced chemiluminescence (CL) was suppressed in the presence of the test substance.
