Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

A weight-of-evidence approach indicates a viscosity of 0.56 mPa*s at 20°C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Viscosity:
0.56 mPa · s (dynamic)
at the temperature of:
20 °C

Additional information

No guideline-compliant study on the viscosity of chloroform is available. Company data indicates a viscosity of 0.57 mPa*s at 20°C. This value is in good agreement with the data found in a peer reviewed handbook : 0.56 mPa*s at 20°C. This latter value is used for the assessment. Data indicate that chloroform has a viscosity below that of water.
