Any other information on results incl. tables

The results shown below clearly indicate that volatilisation may be expected from water and soil and adsorption to particulate matter is poor. The change in temperature has clear effect on the distribution between compartments.

Static equilibrium partitioning

Compartment Partitioning % at 20oC Partitioning % at 12oC

Air                            95.7                             90.2

Water                      4.264                           9.68

Sediment               0.0008                           0.0019

Soil                          0.038                            0.086

At lower temperatures as the water solubility of TAME increases and vapour pressure decreases the equilibrium partitioning is less in the air compartment side and higher proportion of the substance is in the water phase.
