Description of key information

Based on study data available, TAME is indirectly photodegraded in the atmosphere in few days. The estimated degradation half life is 3.07 days.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

According to existing data, degradation half-life of TAME in the air is 2.55-3.07 days depending on environmental conditions (predominantly OH-radical concentration). Using a degradation rate constant of 5.22 · 10-12cm3/molecule.s-1and OH –radical conc. 5 · 105radicals/cm3a half-life 3.07 days is calculated. This half-life for degradation in air will be used in further assessment.
