Justification for classification or non-classification

Betaines, C12-14 (even numbered)-alkyldimethyl does not have to be classified for carcinogenicity according to the criteria of EU Directive 67/548/EEC or Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008.

Additional information

There is no data available concerning carcinogenic properties of Betaines, C12-14 (even numbered)-alkyldimethyl or alkyl dimethyl betaines in general. As these substances do not show any mutagenic characteristics and have been in use for decades without any reported cases of carcinogenicity related to their use, there is no need for a study on carcinogenicity.
