Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The acute aquatic toxicity on fish was investigated in GLP guideline studies according to OECD 203 for Pigment Red 53:1 (CAS 5160-02-1) using the the zebrafish Danio rerio as test species. The substance was tested with nominal concentrations of  0, 1, 10, 100, 500 mg/L. After 96 hours of exposure no toxic effects on fish within the range of exposure were observed. The study revealed a LC50 value of > 500 mg/L test substance which clearly exceeded the water solubility of the compound. Therefore, it can be assumed that the substance is not toxic up to its solubility limit.

The four valid studies revealed LC50 values of > 100 mg/L test substance which clearly exceed the water solubility of the compound. Therefore, it can be assumed that the substance is not toxic up to its solubility limit.
