Description of key information

BCF = 0.893 L/kg (BCFBAF v3.01, Arnot Gobas)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

BCF (aquatic species):
0.893 L/kg ww

Additional information

In accordance with column 2 of Annex IX 9.3.2 of Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 bioaccumulation testing is not required because the substance has a log Kow < 3.

As expected, QSAR calculations with BCFBAF (v3.01) result in very low bioaccumulation factors for glycine. The calculation based on regression results in a BCF of 3.16 L/kg wet weight. The calculation based on the model of Arnot-Gobas results in BAF/BCF values of 0.893 L/kg wet weight.
