Additional information

No studies investigating the indirect photolysis of glycine are available. Using AOPWIN v1.92, a half-life of 13.7 hours was calculated (Blum, 2012), indicating rapid degradation by indirect photolysis if present in the atmosphere. However, photodegradation is not an important environmental fate process since the substance is not expected to evaporate into the atmosphere due to its very low vapor pressure of < 0.0001 Pa at 20 °C. As this study is not a standard information requirement in Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 and there is no indication from the chemical safety assessment on the need to investigate further the fate and behaviour of the substance, no further testing is considered necessary.
