Additional information

There are aquatic ecotoxicological data from three throphic levels available (fish, Daphnia magna and alga). The majority of the studies were conducted above the solubility limit without analytical monitoring. However, although above solubility, no effects were observed for fish and Daphnia. The algae study that was conducted according to current standard testing guidelines also did not reveal any effects at the highest soluble concentration. The EC50 for growth rate at 72 hours was estimated to be >38.6 mg/L. The data indicate that in the range of the water solubility limit dodecanedioic does not pose a significant hazard to aquatic organisms. Given that the NOEC for the alga study (11.1 mg/L measured) is lower than the endpoints reported for the fish and Daphnia studies, the ErC50 from the algae study will be used to derive PNEC values.
