Description of key information

Calculation methods are used for estimating the partition coefficient.
It is noted that KOWWIN (Episuite) provides not only a calculated value,
but also an experimental value of 0.41. This value was collected from
Hansch, C. (1985) and is referenced in several other publications,
including the Handbook of Environmental Fate and Exposure Data for
Organic Chemicals, Vol. 4 (Howard, P.H.). Unfortunately, the original
study report by Hansch could not be found.

The calculated log Pow ranges between 0.41 and 0.67

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Log Kow (Log Pow):
0.41

Additional information

The calculated log Pow ranges between 0.41 and 0.67. For risk assessment purposes, the value of 0.41 is taken (in line with EU RAR Furfural, 2008)
