Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The range of melting was determined to be between -4°C to 12°C as per OECD 102.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Melting / freezing point at 101 325 Pa:
-4 °C

Additional information

The key value of melting point was determined by using Differential Scanning Calorimetry method according to the guideline OECD 102 in accordance with GLP. The range of melting was determined to be between -4°C to 12°C. Titanium tetraisopropanolate is hydrolytically unstable. When it comes in contact with water or moisture, a complete hydrolysis will take place with no significant reaction products other than isopropyl alcohol (IPA) and hydrated titanium dioxide. Because of rapid hydrolysis, read-across data on the melting point of IPA , -87.9 deg. Celsius, released from the substance is used as a key value in ES&RC (peer-reviewed handbook value, Lide D.R. 2008).
