No experimental data are available regarding the toxicokinetic behavior and metabolism of Epoxidized Soybean Oil Acrylate. No systemic toxicity was observed after oral exposure to the substance in a repeated dose/screening reproduction toxicity study (OECD 422). Liver enzymes (esterases) are potentially capable to break the ester bond in the substance.
Given the Log Kow of 2.96 and the Molecular Weight of approximately 1105, it is unlikely that Epoxidized Soybean Oil Acrylate penetrates the skin at a permeation rate of more than 10%; the EPA DERMWIN QSAR program predicts the log Kp to be -7.36. The EPA DERMWIN QSAR uses the calculation Log Kp = -2.72 + 0.71*(Log Kow) - 0.0061(MW).
