Description of key information

Adsorption/Desorption

For 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate the Koc value was calculated to be 1L /kg (log Koc = -0.03) when based on the MCI method (BASF, 2015). Further, based on a log Koc of <3 adsorption to solid soil phase is not expected.

Henry's law constant

The substance will not evaporate into the atmosphere from the water surface. For 2-hydroxyethyl acrylate the Henry's Law constant is calculated to be 4.55E-004 Pa·m³/mole based on the Bond method (BASF, 2015).

Distribution modelling

Model calculations show that the majority of substance will partition into water (99.9%) and some into air (0.05%). Negligible amounts are predicted to partition into other environmental compartments (soil, sediment).
