Additional information

The substance 1,2,4-Benzenetricarboxylic acid, mixed decyl and octyl triesters has an extremely low water solubility (< 1 mg/L). The substance is therefore not expected to partition into water and consequently hydrolysis will not significantly contribute to the removal of 1,2,4-Benzenetricarboxylic acid, decyl octyl ester from the environment. Calculated values indicate a hydrolysis half-life at pH 7 and pH 8 of about 356 or 36 days, respectively.

Various biodegradation studies demonstrate that the material is inherently degradable in water.
