Additional information

Reliable results from short-term toxicity tests are available for freshwater fish (Oncorhynchus mykiss), invertebrates (Daphnia magna) and algae (Selenastrum capricornutum- new name Pseudokirchneriella subcapitata). The lowest LC50 or EC50 values determined for the three organisms were >16, >2.9 and >12 µg/L respectively. A NOEC of ≥12 µg/L was determined in the algal test.

NOECs of ≥14.4 μg/L (90-day) and ≥15 µg/L (21 -day) have been determined in longer-term tests with fish (early-life stages of Oncorhynchus mykiss) and invertebrates (reproduction and growth of Daphnia magna).

Sediment toxicity test results are available for the substance for three species. 28-day LC or EC50 values of 257 and >1272 mg/kg dry weight have been determined for effects on mortality of Chironomus riparius and Lumbriculus variegatus respectively. Corresponding NOEC values of 70, ≥1272 mg/kg dry weight based on growth rate and survival/reproduction/growth have been determined in the same tests. In addition, a 28-day NOEC of 130 mg/kg and a LOEC of >130 mg/kg have been determined for effects on growth rate in Hyalella azteca.
