Description of key information

There are no specific studies of the carcinogenic potential of TPP, but based on genotoxic and repeat-dose studies TPP is unlikely to have any significant cancer potential. This evidence is supported by negative carcinogenicity studies of the primary metabolite, phenol (see Section 7.5.1).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Justification for classification or non-classification

Based on a lack of genotoxicity, the results of existing repeated dose toxicity studies, and negative carcinogenicity studies of the primary metabolite, phenol, TPP is not anticipated to present a cancer risk.
