Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The boiling range of (3-chloro-2-hydroxypropyl)trimethyl-ammonium chloride was found at ca. 190 to 209 °C (463 to 482 K) using differential scanning calorimetry (Schneider 1997).

This relatively long endothermal proceeding (boiling range) rapidly passed over into a short exothermal heat flow (decomposition) at 210.3 °C (483.5 K).

Another study (Degussa, AG, 1997) has shown that the substance has a boiling point value of 110 °C. However, the original reference was not available for review and no further information is available. The reliability of this result is not assignable.
