Based on the results of the acute and long-term toxicity tests to aquatic organisms (most sensitive species daphnia with a 21-day-NOEC of 51 mg/L) and taking into account the provisions laid down in Council Directive 67/548/EEC and CLP (GHS), benzyl alcohol is not classified with respect to acute and chronic ecotoxicity.
