Description of key information
Autoflammability testing considered unnecessary on the basis that the melting point of Silicon nitride is approximately 1900°C and the material does not self-combust up to this temperature.

Additional information
In accordance with Annex VII, column 2 of the REACH Regulation, this study does not need to be conducted if preliminary results exclude self-heating of the substance up to 400°C. The melting point of Silicon Nitride is 1900°C and the material does not self-combust up to this temperature; on this basis it may be concluded that testing for autoflammability is not justified.
