Description of key information

The green alga Scenedesmus subspicatus was exposed to isophorone diisocyanate homopolymer in a limit test for a period of 72 hours. The study was conducted according to OECD TGD 201 and EU Method C.1. No effects on biomass and growth rate were observed up to the limit of water solubility. Thus the EC50 values (72 hours) based on cell numbers and growth rate were determined as >3.1 mg DOC/L (saturated solution) indicating that the substance has no acute toxic effects on algae at concentrations up to the water solubility limit.
