Description of key information

A 96-hour LC50 value of >1.6 mg/L and NOEC of ≥1.6 mg/L have been determined for the effects of the test substance on mortality of Oncorhynchus mykiss. A concentration of 1.6 mg/L corresponds to the approximate water solubility of the substance. This is the only reliable test result for D3.
A 96-hour LC50 of >126 mg/L has been determined for the effects of the hydrolysis product (Dimethylsilanediol; CAS No. 1066-42-8) on mortality of Oncorhynchus mykiss. This study is considered to be reliable without restrictions and, therefore, may be used to conclude that dimethylsilanediol is not acutely toxic to fish.
