Experimental data on the toxicity of the substance to terrestrial organisms are not available. The substance is characterised by a high water solubility (WS 34.7 g/L at 19.8 °C (flask method, OECD 105) and a low log Koc (log Koc < 1.32, OECD 121). Based on the physico-chemical parameters of the substance partitioning to the water phase is expected if the substance is released to the environment. The substance is not readily biodegradable (9% after 28d). A QSAR calculationusing the Persistence (soil) model (IRFMN) 1.0.0, included in the VEGA software version 1.1.4, predicted “not P” for the substance. Furthermore, the release rates to wastewater during the lifecycle of the substance are negligible. The environmental exposure assessment for the substance indicates no risk for the terrestrial compartment (all RCR< 1; please refer to Chapter 9 and 10 of the Chemical Safety Report for detailed information).  Thus, direct and indirect release of the substance to the terrestrial compartment is considered to be very low.

The substance is not readily biodegradable (9% after 28 d, OECD 301B), has a low potential for adsorption (log Koc < 1.32, OECD 121) and there is no indication that the substance is very toxic (EC/LC50 >1 mg/L). According to the information given in the Guidance on Information Requirements and Chemical Safety Assessment Chapter R.7c: Endpoint specific guidance (ECHA, 2017), the substance is assigned to soil hazard category 3. Thus a confirmatory long-term soil toxicity testing on soil macroorganisms is proposed.
