Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

Readily biodegradable in OECD 301F- Manometric respirometry test. Biodegradation equivalent to 112.1 ± 5.7% (mean ± 1 Std. Dev.) consumption of theoretical oxygen demand (ThOD) was observed after 28 days, and 85.4 ± 6.8% biodegradation was observed within the 10-day window.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
readily biodegradable

Additional information

The Natural Oil Monomer is considered readily biodegradable according to current OECD definition. By virtue of this definition, and the rapid and complete mineralization observed in this study and estimated from QSAR (i.e., BIOWIN, CATABOL), the components of this substance are expected to rapidly and ultimately biodegrade in a variety of environments.
