Skin sensitisation

Endpoint conclusion
Endpoint conclusion:
no adverse effect observed (not sensitising)
Additional information:

In a key delayed contact hypersensitivity study, a group of albino guinea pigs was induced with 5% w/v test substance in mineral oil and then challenged with the same concentration (Costello, BA and Gilman, MR, 1982). All scores at the 24 hour and 48 hour challenge phase readings were zero. The test substance was not a sensitizer in the guinea pig.

In a supporting delayed contact hypersensitivity study, a group of 20 Dunkin-Hartley strain Guinea pigs was induced with 5% w/v test substance in mineral oil and then challenged with the same concentration (Costello, BA and Gilman, MR, 1982). All scores at the 24 hour and 48 hour challenge phase readings were zero. The test substance was not a sensitizer in the guinea pig.
