Additional information

No toxicity studies for terrestrial organisms are available as the test substance is readily biodegradable, so exposure of the soil compartment is unlikely. Moreover, the Chemical Safety Assessment for all identified uses using PNECsoil based on equilibrium partitioning shows no concern. Therefore, waivers are requested for all studies on soil organisms.

Waiving of a toxicity study to any organism in soil compartement is justified based on the outcome of the actual exposure assessment of all identified uses and the risk characterization for all wide dispersive uses. Details on the risk characterization are provided in the Chemical Safety Report /Assessment for each individual use and also a summary for all wide dispersive uses in Chapter 10.2. There is no indication for a risk to terrestrial organisms, in fact all risk factors ( RCRs) are below 1. For this reason there is no indication that a toxicity study to terrestrial organisms is necessary.
