PBT assessment: overall result

PBT status:
the substance is not PBT / vPvB
Justification:

The substance is a multi-constituent substance. The main constituents of Mixed Glycols (EC 907-131-0) are triethylene glycol (TGE, CAS 112-27-6, 10-80% w/w) and tetraethylene glycol (Tetra-EG, CAS 112-60-7, 10-80% w/w). Therefore, in absence of available data for the assessment of the substance’s toxicity to environment and aquatic organisms, a read-across approach was performed. This read-across approach consists of data which are available for the main constituents and the structurally similar substance CAS 4792-15-8.

Mixed glycols (EC 907-131-0)

The substance is not PBT/vPvB as it is readily biodegradable, has a low log Kow and the long-term toxicity is above the critical level of 0.01 mg/L. In addition, the substance holds no relevant classification.

Triethylene glycol (TGE, CAS 112-27-6)

The substance is not PBT/vPvB as it is readily biodegradable, has a low log Kow and the long-term toxicity is above the critical level of 0.01 mg/L. In addition, the substance holds no relevant classification.

Tetraethylene glycol (Tetra-EG, CAS 112-60-7)

The substance is not PBT/vPvB as it is readily biodegradable, has a low log Kow and the long-term toxicity is above the critical level of 0.01 mg/L. In addition, the substance holds no relevant classification.
