The substance Di-Pentaerythritol is stable to hydrolysis i.e. estimated half-life of greater than one year under typical environmental conditions.

 

The substance Di-Pentaerythritol is not readily biodegradable.

 

The logKow of Di-Pentaerythritol is reported to be -1.8 (see Section 4.7, partition coefficient). According to Column 2 of Annex IX of the REACH regulation, no study is required if the logKow is below the trigger of 3 as the substance can be expected to have a low potential for bioaccumulation.

 

Based on the logPow value (OECD 117, is -1.8), the substance Di-Pentaerythritol can be expected to have a low potential for adsorption. According to Column 2 of Annex VIII of the REACH regulation, no study is required if the logPow is below the trigger of 3 as the substance can be expected to have a low potential for adsorption.

 

In accordance with REACH Annex XI, based on available data, the substance is not classified as hazardous for the environment. Therefore degradation simulation testing in water and/or sediment and in soil does not need to be conducted.
