Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

OECD 209/ EC-Method C.11: No dose dependent respiration inhibition as EC50 could be determined up to 100 mg/L (nominal).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

EC50 for microorganisms:
0.75 mg/L
EC10 or NOEC for microorganisms:
0.54 mg/L

Additional information

In a test for respiration inhibition as indicator for toxicity to microorganisms up to the highest tested concentration no Effect Concentration 50 could be determined. Because of the very low solubility of the test item the results, which are based on nominal concentrations, must be corrected. From other aquatic tox studies it can be estimated, that the solubility is approx. 0.75 mg/l under the test conditions. So for the risk assessment an EC 50 of > 0.75 mg/l is assumed. The reported LC 10 of 72 mg/l (nominal) would then correspond with 0.54 mg/l.
