In accordance with Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 Annex VIII 9.2.2.1 column 2 the testing for hydrolysis is not required for substances that are readily biodegradable. In addition, as Fatty acids, C16-18 and C18-unsatd., branched and linear does not have a functional group that is susceptible to hydrolysis, it is expected not to hydrolyse under environmental conditions. Photodegradation of Fatty acids C16-C18 and C18 unsatd., branched and linear in air is not a relevant degradation pathway as the vapour pressure under ambient conditions is neglible.
