Description of key information

Non flammable solid
The substance has no pyrophoric properties and does not liberate flammable gases in dangerous quantities on contact with water.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

According to the low pour point (23°-32°C) and the high flash point (204°C) of the substance it is not expected that the substance should be classified as a “ highly flammable” solid. A burning rate test is scientifically not necessary because during the performance the substance melts immediately and the resulting liquid will not be “highly flammable” due to the flash point.

Based on chemical structure and experience in handling and use pyrophoric properties are not to be expected. Based on chemical structure and on experience in handling and use the substance does not liberate flammable gases in dangerous quantities on contact with water.

Justification for classification or non-classification

No classification, the substance is no flammable.

Justification: The substance is a solid with a low pour point (23°-32°C) and the high flash point (204°C).

Based on the chemical structure pyrophoricity and flammability in contact with water are not expected.
