Description of key information

Liquid: The dissociation constant of sodium polysulfide solution (at 23 °C) was determined as:   pKb1 = 9.56 and pKb2 = 7.02

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Liquid: The dissociation constant of the test item sodium polysulfide solution (EC no. 215-686-9) was determined according to OECD guideline no. 112 [adopted on 12 May 1981] with the titration method. The dissociation constant of the test item is determined by titration with the standard base or acid solution as appropriate. The titration of a sample of the test item (a mixture!) gave two semi-equivalence points.

The dissociation constant of sodium polysulfide solution (at 23 °C) was determined as: pKb1 = 9.56 and pKb2 = 7.02
