First-aid measures

General information:

Remove soiled or soaked clothing immediately. If symptoms persist, consult a doctor.

After inhalation: Remove the casualty into fresh air and keep him calm.

After contact with skin: In case of contact with skin wash off immediately with soap and water

After contact with eyes:

Rinse the affected eye immediately with plenty of water at the same time keep the unaffected eye well protected.

After ingestion:

Rinse out mouth and give plenty of water to drink. Get medical treatment

Advice to doctor: Symptoms: Cyanosis

Fire-fighting measures

Suitable extinguishing media: water spray jet, foam, dry powder

Extinguishing media that must not be used for safety reasons: Full water jet

Special hazards from the substance itself, its combustion products or from its vapours:

In case of fires, hazardous combustion gases are formed: Carbon monoxide (CO), Nitrous gases (NOx)

Special protective equipment for firefighting: In case of fire, wear respiratory protection

Further information:

Fire residues and contaminated firefighting water must be disposed of in accordance with the local regulations.

Accidental release measures

Personal precautions:

Wear suitable personal protective equipment. Avoid contact with skin and eyes. Remove persons to safety.

Environmental precautions: Do not allow entry to drains, water courses or soil

Methods for cleaning up/taking up:

Take up mechanically. Clean contaminated floors and objects thoroughly, observing environmental regulations.

When picked up, treat material as prescribed under heading "Disposal". Containers in which spilt substance has been collected must be adequately labelled

Handling and storage

Advice on safe handling:

Avoid dust formation. Ensure adequate ventilation of the workplace

Advice on protection against fire and explosion:

Observe the general rules of industrial fire protection. Take precautionary measures against electrostatic charges - earthing necessary during

loading operations. Keep away from sources of ignition. Dust can form an explosive mixture with air.

Dust explosion class : ST3 Capable of dust explosion

Further information on storage conditions: Keep container tightly closed in a cool, well-ventilated place

Exposure controls / personal protection

During its lifecycle the substance is handled under strictly controlled conditions and is rigorously contained in accordance with Art. 18.

Based on the knowledge of the basic hazards to humans and environment technical, organizational and PPE measures are taken to minimize release and exposure of this substance. National regulatory requirements for the handling of chemicals are also fulfilled. Employees are regularly trained. The efficiency of these measures is controlled e.g. by workplace measurements. In case of deviations these measures are adapted.

General protective measures: Do not inhale dust. Avoid contact with eyes and skin

Hygiene measures: Keep away from foodstuffs and beverages. Wash hands before breaks and after work.

Respiratory protection : Dust mask

Hand protection : Nitrile rubber gloves.Observe the information of the glove manufacturers on permeability and breakthrough times and other

workplace requirements

Eye protection : safety glasses/face shield

Body protection : working clothes

Stability and reactivity

Thermal decomposition : from 250 °C (Heating rate : 3 K/min) Method : DSC

Hazardous decomposition products: Nitrous gases

Disposal considerations

Product: Special waste incineration plant, after consultation with operators

Uncleaned packaging: Packaging that cannot be cleaned should be disposed of as product waste
