Additional information

In a guideline (OECD 201) GLP study, the acute toxicity of to Selenastrum capricornutum was assessed for a substance that meets the description “Ethanol, 2-butoxy- ,manufacture of, by-products from” and was found to be low. The 72 hour EC50 was estimated to be 1075mg/l using the biomass integral and 2490 mg/l by growth rate calculation. The 48 hour EC50 was 1054 mg/l by biomass integral and 1686mg/l by growth rate.

In a guideline (ISO) study, the 72 -hour EC50 of a substance that matches the description "Poly(oxy-1,2,-ethanediyl), α-butyl, ω-hydroxyl", in the marine algae Skeletonema costatum was determined to be 391 mg/L (95% CL 297 - 470 mg/L).
