Additional information

Sodium borohydride is a white, free-flowing, opaque granular solid at 20.4 +/-0.5°C. Sodium borohydride rapidly hydrolyzes in water to form boric acid which is highly soluble in water. In the absence of any significant thermal events and any change in substance appearance, the test material has been assessed to have a melting temperature greater than 360°C and a boiling temperature greater than 400°C. The substance has a bulk density of 1.08 x 10E3 kg/m3 at 20.5 +/-0.5°C. The vapor pressure is less than 5.4x10e-5 Pa at 25°C and the mean particle size is 180.0 microns. The substance exhibits a high auto-ignition temperature (> 400°C), and is therefore regarded as non-flammable liquid. The substance does not possess atoms or functional groups which are known to contribute to pyrophoric or explosive properties.
