Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

EC10 or NOEC for freshwater algae:
9.4 mg/L

Additional information

The toxicity of the substance to Desmodesmus subspicatus was tested using a static test system set up according to Directive 87/302/EEC C.3 under GLP conditions. At test termination after 72 hours of exposure an ErC50 of >75.7 mg/L was determined (Ciba-Geigy 1993, amendment 2006). The test was conducted with the measured concentrations of 0.7 to 75.7 mg/L (5 concentrations), a NOECr of 9.4 mg/L was calculated for 72 hours.

In a supporting study conducted according to 92/96/EEC under GLP conditions, nominal concentrations of 4.6 to 140 mg/L of the test substance were tested, with a second test range of 0.6 to 2.3 mg/L, both with differing sensitivity ranges. A static system with Desmodesmus subspicatus was used, with a resulting EC10 (72h) of 51 mg/L (Study director 1993f).
