Short term toxicity to fish data was available for  4 streams within this Category.  The 96hr  LC50s ranged from 0.58 - 13.5 mg/l .   One study identified a  NOEC rof  5.6 .  One study identified a NOEC for swimming behaviour of 3.2 mg/l.   The 96hr LL 50 range based on two studies was 0.73-6.3mg/l

Cas Number 68477 -40 -7 (TNO 1989) This is a GLP, guideline study. Dissolved oxygen levels were very low but this does not appear to have affected the fish in the controls therefore this study is considered adequate for assessment. The 48h and 96 h LC50 for Brachydanio rerio was determined to be 9.9 and 7.3 mg/l . 96 h NOEC Mortalty 5.6 mg/l 96 h NOEC swimming behaviour 3.2mg/l.
