Description of key information

The 96-h LL50 obtained on the zebrafish (Brachydanio rerio) for yttrium oxide is > 100 mg/L based on nominal loading rate. Therefore, yttrium oxide is not harmful to fish up to its solubility limit into water.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

One experimental study is available on yttrium oxide according to OECD 203 guideline. It is flagged as a key study, and it reveals that the substance is not harmful to fish up to its solubility limit into water. As it was not conducted under GLP, and due to the absence of analytical measurements, this study was quoted as reliability 2 according to Klimisch criteria
